SA State League: Round 4

This weekend was the fourth round of SA State League. We've asked the coach of each of our three teams to write up a brief summary of their game.

We'll be posting these summaries each round throughout the season so that you can keep up to date with the club's performance.

Reserves Men

Brad Hocking

This weekend, the reserve men played against top of the table, Mt. Lofty. Although the result was a 3-0 loss, there were many aspects of the match which were promising for upcoming weeks.

Broadly, serve reception was a strength but outside offence was a weakness. Errors are becoming less significant as we progress through the season which is very good to see. MVP this week, again goes to our unstoppable middle hitter, Dan-the-Man.

Division 1 Women

Konrad Pilch

The Division 1 women had a bye this week - a well deserved break after their win last round.

Division 1 Men

Andy Wong

It was another slow start to the game for the Division 1 men’s team in round 4 against South Adelaide Volleyball Club. The team failed to play to their ability in the first set, however after several changes, the performance of the team picked up in the 2nd set.

Unfortunately, the team was still unable to overcome the experienced South Adelaide side who took the lead for most of the game, with our side fighting back at times. There were some great moments in the game, including some great serving by Michael Psalios and a few big hits on the outside by Dan Emery,.
