SA State League Round 7 - Match Reports

League Reserve Men

Austral def AUVC 3-2

A disappointing match this week by the reserve men. The score line was tight, losing in 5 sets. Main contributor to the loss was very poor spike efficiency.

This was coupled with an overall lack of quality touches. One positive was the level of aggression during the game, but it being used without focus drove us in the wrong direction.

Unfortunately, there were no standout players this week - MVP goes to Brodie McDougall for a consistent match.

After a slow start, and some immense pressure from a strong Austral side the team was able to rally together to pull a five set win.

Division 2 Men (Round 6, Played 9th June)

Norwood def AUVC 3-0

Norwood Bears proved to be very strong with their serving power and attacking power. They were able to target weaknesses very well and aim for gaps with their serving and execute hits very effectively. Ultimately this lead to the defeat.

When AUVC gained momentum, the game started to tilt towards AU’s favour, however, the momentum wouldn’t last due to the team dropping their heads.

Honourable mentions go to Oscar Estrada for his consistent passing and defensive plays and to Ollie Williams for his hitting consistency.

MVP for this game goes to Brodie Jackson for his aggressive blocking presence.
