League Reserve Men

Mt Lofty def AUVC 3-1

The last round of the regular season saw the AUVC Reserve Men take on Mt Lofty. The first 2 sets were less than ideal with Mt Lofty managing to walk away with close victories. The third set was better which went our way thanks to continued aggressive serves and hard work in defence. Ultimately, Mt Lofty took the match in 4 due to their strong defence and our struggle to side out.

Honourable mention goes to Ryan Muldrew for again bringing consistency to the match. Another honourable mention goes to Adam Bowering for having an great impact through double sub.

Division 1 Women

AUVC def Mt Lofty 3-2

This week's game against lofty was a nail biter and the girls managed to win a very close game against lofty in 5 sets.

We won the first set without any major hiccups but fell behind in the next two when first serve reception then attack weren't at our usual standards and we couldn't side out. The girls showed great skill and character coming back from that situation and beating lofty in the following two sets and taking home the game.

Honorable mentions go to Tori Long for a great presence at the net despite being injured during warm up, and Rachael Lawrence for a great setting game and for winning us several services runs.

MVP this week goes to Kate Woodbridge for a great all round performance being able to win points in attack, set great options, and help save several broken plays.

Division 2 Men

Adelaide Spikers def AUVC 2-1

AUVC won the first set, due to their offensive pressure from attacks and consistent serves, while also maintaining a good defensive structure.

AUVC lost the second and third set. This was due to a lack of focus and simple errors which could have been avoided, such as covering tips and being more alert throughout the sets.

Honourable mentions, Oscar Harper for his consistent attacking and blocking pressure in the middle.

MVP goes to Oscar Estrada for his consistent passing in the back court.
